Praise and Worship
We desire to have Spirit led worship that creates an atmosphere for free and liberated worship whereby the Spirit and presence of God can dwell, so that we may touch the very heart of the One True Living God.
What this Means for Bethel
-
Our worship might feel different — and that's okay. No pressure to match our style. Worship God from your heart. We believe faith comes from the heart and is rooted in God’s Word, so our worship is simply our hearts responding to Him.
It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God. 2 Chronicles 5:13-14 KJV

God wants praise & worship that is from a heart of truth.
“But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.” John 4:23-24 NLT
-
God encourages us to clap.
“Come, everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise!” Psalm 47:1 NLT
-
It is a way of surrendering and expressing worship to God.
“I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath or doubting.” I Timothy 2:8
“Lift up your hands in the sanctuary & bless the Lord.” Psalm 134:2
“I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath or doubting.” I Timothy 2:8

God has gifted people with musical abilities to worship Him.
“Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet: praise Him with the psaltery & harp. Praise Him with the timbrel & dance. Praise Him with the stringed instruments & organs. Praise Him upon the loud cymbals; Praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals.” Psalm 150:3-5
-
God encourages us to express our great joy and thanksgiving!
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me. Bless His holy name.” Psalm 103:1
“...Shout unto God with the voice of triumph.” Psalm 47:1
-
The Holy Spirit has given us a new language to worship God.
“They were all filled with the Holy Ghost & began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.” Acts 2:4
“He that speaks in an unknown tongue gives thanks well. For if I pray in any unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit & I will pray with the understanding also. I will sing with the spirit & I will sing with the understanding also.” 1 Corinthians 14:14-15
